The Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Physics (IMSP) conducted a two-day curricular workshop to revisit and update its course offerings on January 30-31, 2024, at the Mathematics Building, UPLB.

Courses, including both service and major courses, underwent rigorous evaluation, wherein faculty members from the Mathematics and Physics Division assessed each course's outlines, content, and delivery methods.

Additionally, degree program offerings are thoroughly evaluated to ensure they equip students with a strong foundation aligned with current trends. This process ensures that graduates are well-prepared for their careers.

On the second day of the workshop, course committees, comprising faculty members responsible for these courses, convene to finalize course delivery details, including outlines and policies.

"Conducting a curricular revision workshop is crucial for ensuring that the undergraduate programs offered by IMSP remain relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with industry trends, technological advancements, and best instructional practices,” Dr. Mark Lexter De Lara, head of the Mathematics Division, said.

He also added that “this proactive approach helps to maintain the quality and effectiveness of the programs, ultimately benefiting both students and the institution as a whole.” (MJ Bajamundi)
